La Dra. Jane Cook se ha involucrado durante muchos años en el estudio de la patogénesis y epidemiología de las enfermedades virales de las aves, particularmente la Bronquitis Infecciosa (BI), las infecciones por Adenovirus (incluyendo EDS-76) y el Pneumovirus Aviar. Ella trabajó en la investigación y el desarrollo de vacunas aviares hasta que se retiró en el año 2000. Desde su retiro la Dra. Cook se ha mantenido relacionada al ámbito de las enfermedades aviares como consultora para diferentes organizaciones, dando charlas y escribiendo capítulos de libros y revisando artículos. Entre otras actividades, ella es también la editora de la revista Avian Pathology.
